What I like best [about anything] is taking pictures

Over the past few years, I have had the privilege of working with Aquila Tours, managing shore excursions for cruise ships visiting Saint John. Although I have enjoyed this work - not to mention the fantastic team - it has become increasingly clear that what I like best about the job is not even part of the description: taking pictures. I have taken pictures at every possible opportunity. Thankfully I have always had my iPhone with me!

When I wasn’t working at the pier, I took photos with my trusty Fuji X100, which fits handily in the storage compartment of my car.

I am now taking on a new job. Life circumstances - i.e. my aging parents who need me to be more available - have persuaded me that I need to stop dithering and follow my dream. So I have decided to pursue my passion for photography and see where it leads.

As you can see on my web pages, I have been taking portraits and event photos. I love photographing the natural world and I never tire of the many faces of this city. I would also like to photograph weddings and do some editorial work. I am really excited to start working on some of the projects and ideas that have been bouncing around in my head, and there is always something new to learn. And of course I will continue to take photographs of the beautiful cruise ships whenever I get the chance!
